FEBRUARY EVENTS AT THE LIBRARY
Kamas Valley | Mon, February 2 | 4:30 PM | 4th-6th Graders
This month’s Tween Scene is a Valentine’s celebration! Enjoy Minute to Win It games and a hot cocoa bar, with the option to bring a grown-up for a special Valentine “date.” Grown-ups encouraged but not required.

On the first Saturday in February, thousands of libraries across the world celebrate Take Your Child to the Library Day by offering free, fun, fabulous activities for families. This year, we have fun activities planned that will include:

Feminist philosopher Dr. Lindsey Stewart’s book, The Conjuring of America: Mojos, Mermaids, Medicine, and 400 Years of Black Women’s Magic, tells the stories of Negro Mammies of slavery; the Voodoo Queens and Blues Women of Reconstruction; and the Granny Midwives and textile weavers of the Jim Crow era. These women, in secrecy and subterfuge, courageously and devotedly continued their practices and worship for centuries and passed down their traditions.
