The new Kimball Junction Library officially opens to the public. We can't wait to welcome you into our new space!

Grand Opening & Book Brigade
Join us as we celebrate our new library with a community grand opening event and Book Brigade!
💡 We'll be working hard to open as soon as everything is ready. If we're able to open earlier than September 14, we'll share the news on our website, social media, and email newsletter.
Every book, movie, puzzle, or game you borrow is one less item we have to pack, move, and shelve. Between August 1–15, we encourage everyone to stock up on their favorites while we make the move. Materials checked out during the Check Out the Move promotion will receive extended due dates into October.
Think of it this way… One book checked out = one less book we have to move!
How many items can I check out?
Borrow up to your account's checkout limit (up to 50 items)! Load up on books, movies, audiobooks, puzzles, games, and more to enjoy while we're closed.
When are items due?
Materials checked out during the Check Out the Move promotion will receive extended due dates into October, giving you plenty of time to enjoy them while we settle into our new building.
Should I return my books while you're closed?
The book drops will remain open, but we'd love for you to keep your items until October.
Keeping materials with you means fewer items for our staff to move—and that's a huge help!
Already have a hold waiting?
Holds that arrive at the Kimball Junction Branch and the Kimball Junction Locker will be available for pickup through August 15.
After that, any remaining holds and newly arrived holds will be moved to the Bookmobile for pickup during Bookmobile service hours.
🚚 The Library Is on the Move... But the Bookmobile Isn't!
While our team is busy moving into the new library, the Bookmobile will be holding down the fort! Stop by from 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM to browse the collection or pick up any holds that weren't collected before the Kimball Junction Branch closed.

Placing a hold August-September?
We recommend choosing the Coalville or Kamas Branch as your pickup location.
That way, if your hold arrives while Kimball Junction is closed, you'll be able to pick it up right away without waiting for the new building to open.
The Kimball Junction Branch may be closed, but the library is still here for you!

Be part of our Grand Opening in a memorable way by joining our Book Brigade!
We'll form a human chain from the old Kimball Junction Library building into the new library, passing books hand-to-hand until they're back on the shelves where they belong. It's a fun way for the community to work together, celebrate our new library, and help fill the shelves—one book at a time.
You'll get to be part of this exciting milestone and help us officially welcome our community into its new library.

Can I still use my library card?
Absolutely! Your card works at every Summit County Library location and gives you access to all of our digital resources.
Will my holds disappear?
No! We'll make sure your holds are available for pickup—either before we close, at the Bookmobile, or at your selected pickup branch.
Can I renew my items?
Yes! Items will automatically renew as usual if they are eligible. In many cases, due dates will be pushed out to October.
What if I forget to pick up my hold before August 15?
It will be transferred to the Bookmobile for pickup.
What if I need help during the move?
